Many of our patrons live on a modest, fixed income and cannot afford to purchase audio books. Audiobook Ministries offers all our services (including mailing) free of charge.
Our ministry is made possible by gifts from churches, individuals, businesses, foundations and by the service of more than 45 volunteers who give their time to read books, duplicate tapes, help in the office, serve on the Board, and check books in and out.
Audiobook Ministries sends out thousands of books on tape on a very minimal budget. We depend on gifts and contributions. Can you send a gift to help? The first step to receiving books is to fill out an application
You can print the application
for books on tape and mail it to us, or contact us by phone or email and we’ll send you an introduction packet by return mail. (If we mail you a packet we’ll enclose a digital audiobook that explains who we are and how we operate.
The application packet includes the following items: Application
for Free Library Service Forms. Each applicant is asked to get a signature from their doctor, nurse, pastor or another caregiver who can certify that they are reading-disabled. (This certification is required by the copyright laws which allow us to record books for the library).
Request Form. By filling out this form you tell us how you would like your books to be selected and which categories you find most interesting. Large-print catalog listing of some of our books. This sample catalog will give you an idea of the types of books that are available.
You have two options in how you receive books.
The first option to chose which books you would like to listen to. To help you do this, we can send you a catalog in large print or on an audio tape. Almost half of our patrons use the second option where our Librarian chooses the books, based upon the categories chosen by the patron. Each time a “we pick” patron finishes a book and mails it back to us, they automatically receive a replacement book by return mail.
